This year’s Wassail Bowl fundraising will support “Camperships”—scholarships that help children in need experience the joy of summer camp at Camp Rodney, just down the road from the club. This year’s donations will be made in loving memory of William A. Wyman. Will was a cherished part of our community: he grew up sailing in our Junior Sailing Program, earned the rank of Eagle Scout with Troop 131, and spent summers at Camp Rodney serving as both counselor and medical staff. After graduating from the Tome School in 2020, he earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing at The Citadel. He proudly served as a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Nursing Corps at William Beaumont Army Medical Center, Fort Bliss. Many of our members have known the Wyman family through their leadership and involvement in Junior Sailing. This year, as we raise funds, we honor Will’s legacy of service, leadership, and kindness by opening the doors of Camp Rodney to more young people who might not otherwise have the chance to attend.
