Located in North East, Maryland, at the headwaters of the Chesapeake Bay, the North East River Yacht Club (NERYC) has been bringing boaters and families together since 1930.
With 500 feet of prime waterfront on the North East River, floating docks, panoramic sunset views, and a vibrant social calendar, NERYC is more than a marina — it’s a year-round waterfront community.

Our Rich Heritage
Founded by a passionate group of yachtsmen committed to fostering safe boating and camaraderie, our club’s original charter emphasizes our core values: “To encourage the sport of yachting, promote the science of seamanship and navigation, offer a welcoming clubhouse, anchorage, and piers for our boating members, and provide recreational and social amenities for all members, whether they own a boat or not.”
Our Facilities
Today, NERYC stands as the premier destination at the top of the bay, featuring the area’s only floating docks and offering unparalleled sunset views. Enjoy casual waterfront dining on our outdoor patio or come indoors to the cozy ambiance of the Burgee Restaurant and Lounge. Members and guests can take advantage of shower facilities and enjoy our picnic grounds equipped with tables, grills, and a fire pit. Members and non-members are encouraged to consider NERYC for their special events, including weddings, anniversary and birthday parties, and other private celebrations.
Exciting Activities
NERYC is a hive of activity all year round, hosting a full calendar of social events both within our clubhouse and out on the water. From themed dinners and lively parties to outdoor picnics and club cruises, there’s always something happening at NERYC!
For sailing enthusiasts, our club offers a range of activities, including informal handicap racing throughout the spring, summer, and fall, and a dynamic youth sailing program. NERYC proudly serves as the home base for the University of Delaware Sailing Team.
